FIELD STUDY #1:
Your Own Perfect Wilderness

Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act, signed into law on September 3rd, 1964.

Since then, wilderness has been legally defined as “an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain.”

It’s 2015. Cities are growing, climates are changing, you’ve got a computer in your pocket, and access to information about everything everywhere all of the time. Let’s suppose, given all that, that our experience of wilderness in the past 50 years has changed.

It leads me to wonder:
Q. If you had to distill it down to a few choice words, what would your wilderness be?

A. My wilderness: (this is where the magic happens).
